Sequential Barricade Lamps

Pi-Lit® Sequential Barricade Warning Lamps enhance safety for work-zone personnel as well as motorists entering the work zone. Much as a pilot is guided to the runway by the sequential flashing strobes (“rabbit”), sequential warning lamps aid the driver by guiding them safely through the work zone.

Drivers approaching the work zone are often confused by the number of flashing lights, vehicle light bars, and “flood lamps” located in the work area. The Pi-Lit® Sequential Warning Lamp is designed to help prevent work zone accidents due to driver confusion. These lamps mounts on any drum, vertical panel, or barricade, and communicate with one another to form a smooth and calming pattern that guides motorists safely through the work zone.

A number of studies have shown that the use of sequential warning lamps at the entrance of a work zone reduces vehicle speed and enhances driver compliance. Drivers approaching the work zone see the visual warning and guidance which results in earlier merging and slowing, thereby reducing the chance of incident.

Features (Mechanical):

Longest battery life on the market; 4 to 5 months continuous flashing (depending upon pattern and lens choice)!
Lens rotates 90 degrees with novel O-ring bushings. Smooth, friction controlled action provides ease of use while preventing inadvertent rotation by wind or vibration.
Nylon inset nut (NyLoc®) where others use standard hex nut. This prevents loosening and tilting (rotation) of lamp during transport and vibration on the truck.
Open nylon insert nut to allow for "snugging" of the mounting bolt irrespective of bolt length. Others use "blind" nut hence bolt can bottom thereby preventing tightening.
Five flash patterns to choose from. Four sequential patterns, one simultaneous pattern.
Battery status check with a push of a button. No need to unnecessarily change batteries! Ask the flare its' battery state.
Reverse the sequence direction with a push of a button. Personnel can deploy from either direction - from vehicle towards traffic or the opposite.
Easy battery change. No need to unbolt and remove lamp from delineator or barricade. Simply swing open the top and drop new batteries in. Lamp automatically fires back up in proper sequence.
Mount sideways (traditional bolt) or lag-bolt down. Only lamp on the market with mounting holes directed downward.

The novel technology provides many options, yet is simple to use. Supports tapers (lane closures) of any number of lamps. Can be deployed in any shape (circle, linear line, around corners or bends, etc.)

500 FT (150 M) RANGE

The radios will communicate across 1000 feet, but to maintain the network we recommend a max 500 feet range (152 meters) between lamps. As long as one lamp is in range of another the message will get passed along. This means you can have miles of lamps and the sequential network will still communicate.

CONTROL ALL FROM ONE

Any one lamp controls entire network of lamps. Changing a parameter such as pattern requires the user to press a button on one lamp. That lamp will send a message to all the lamps in the network. In addition, no need to turn off each lamp. The user can do a "group off" from any lamp or remote control and all the lamps will turn off.

GROUP FREQUENCY CHANNELS

The are times when you deploy 2 or more sequential tapers in close proximity. Now with our easy group channel programming feature the operator can change the group channels on multiple sets at once.
