June 18, 2025 – Miami Gardens, FL — Florida Memorial University (FMU), South Florida’s only historically Black university, has selected Transportation Solutions & Lighting (TS&L) to lead a campus-wide safety upgrade with state-of-the-art Knightscope Blue Light Emergency Towers and Call Boxes.
This transformative project will replace all existing emergency systems across the university’s campus, significantly enhancing response capabilities and student safety. FMU’s decision underscores its continued investment in student well-being and its commitment to fostering a secure learning environment.

TS&L will oversee the full deployment, which includes new solar-powered emergency towers equipped with high-visibility lighting, two-way communication, and seamless integration with FMU’s campus security infrastructure. These units are designed to operate reliably 24/7, even in extreme weather conditions, and provide students, faculty, and visitors with immediate access to emergency services at the push of a button.

National Safety Systems (NSS), a division of Transportation Solutions & Lighting (TSL), has partnered with Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, to install Knightscope K1 blue light towers, enhancing on-site security for veterans, staff, and visitors.
