TS&L Partners with Auburn University to Power One of the Nation’s Largest Campus Safety Upgrades with Knightscope Technology

Pompano Beach, FL — July 25th, 2025— In a bold move to enhance student safety and campus-wide emergency response, Transportation Solutions & Lighting (TS&L) has been selected by Auburn University to lead a transformative upgrade of its emergency communications infrastructure—deploying next-generation Knightscope technology across more than 200 blue light towers throughout the iconic Southeastern campus.

Following TS&L’s acclaimed installation at Vanderbilt University, this milestone project signals another major step in redefining what smart campus security looks like at scale.

TS&L will spearhead a full-system modernization, outfitting Auburn’s existing tower network with state-of-the-art emergency communication capabilities. Powered by Knightscope’s advanced platform, the new system will deliver real-time monitoring, direct-connect emergency access, and seamless integration into Auburn’s security operations—all without disrupting the campus’s existing footprint.

“Auburn is setting a new standard for what campus safety should be,” said Joe Hunter, TS&L’s Director of Engineering and Construction. “This is one of the largest upgrades of its kind in the country—and we’re proud to bring our engineering horsepower, Knightscope’s cutting-edge technology, and a true turnkey approach to deliver it.”

The scope of the project goes far beyond just hardware. TS&L will provide design, engineering, integration, and support—delivering a future-ready safety system built to evolve with Auburn’s needs for years to come.

As one of the most ambitious campus emergency communication overhauls in the country, this project positions Auburn University as a national leader in safety innovation—and further solidifies TS&L’s role as the go-to partner for institutions investing in serious security infrastructure.
